Inscriptions

Every memorial tells a story
Can you describe yourself or someone close to you in a few short words? That’s the challenge of an inscription; these truly are the words you’ve lived by, and a lasting testament to the deceased.
If you are ready, those special words can be inscribed on the memorial before it is set in place. Alternatively, if you need more time you always have the option to have the inscription added after the monument or marker has been installed.
Tree of Life
The Tree of Life represents eternal life and strength. We feel it's a fitting way to pay tribute, and so we created our version, which you may choose to place a name in honour of someone's life. The name is inscribed on a beautiful brass leaf, which is then placed on the memorial. Currently, there is a Tree of Life at the Pine Hills Funeral Centre, York Funeral Centre and Elgin Mills Funeral Centre.
Book of Remembrance
Placing an inscription in our Book of Remembrance is a simple, permanent form of memorial. You can dedicate an entry for any day that holds special significance, such as the date of death or an anniversary. Our calligraphers will inscribe anything, from poems and personal tributes to heraldic illuminations, such as coats of arms, crests or regimental badges.
The books are permanently displayed and can be found at Toronto Necropolis, Mount Pleasant, Prospect, Elgin Mills, Meadowvale and Thornton cemeteries.
