Good afternoon, On Thursday we brought our mother ... home to Toronto to place her ashes with my father at Prospect Cemetery. I cannot say enough about the staff there - they were outstanding. When I called the cemetery prior to the 29th, Val was kind enough to provide me with directions and a map. I inquired about a friend of mine who was buried in 1994 and Val remembered my friend’s family. She spoke so beautifully about my friend and her family. I was so happy to know others still remembered my dear friend. When I arrived at the cemetery one of the grounds workers was kind enough to stop what he was doing and help me find my friend’s stone. Lucy assisted my sister with the paperwork and she took the time to research and answer all our questions regarding not only my mom’s burial, but also gave us the names of all our long deceased family in the plot. Michael took us to the grave and stood with us throughout the ceremony. I appreciated his kind and gentle manner, and the respect he displayed towards mom and her family. The cemetery is beautifully maintained and it was wonderful to see people walking, running and pushing strollers through it. My thanks to everyone who made a difficult day brighter and easier to bear.
